Weather Update: Church Closed to the Public
Due to the current weather forecast, Central United Methodist Church will be closed to the public on Sunday, January 25, and Monday. A pre-recorded worship service will be livestreamed at 10:00 AM on Sunday.

Sundays
- Notification of cancellation will be shared via the church website, Facebook, Instagram, email, and News 13.
- The preferred decision is to cancel Sunday School if necessary – but be open for 10:00 AM worship if at all possible. (Sunday Schools are empowered to send out a notice of cancellation as they see fit.)
- Children and Youth choir practices will be cancelled if the 10:00 AM service is cancelled.
- All staff, volunteers, and congregants should honor the road conditions at their own homes. Do not come in if your neighborhood roads are dangerous.
Weekdays & Saturdays
- If Asheville City Schools are closed, the church offices are “closed” – meaning, a receptionist will not be answering the door and phones for drop-in visits. Group leaders should communicate plan adjustments with their groups. Wesley Singers, Bells, and Brass will not meet.
- Chancel Choir makes decisions about weather independent of ACS. Communications will be sent out from Linda or Corey by 12pm on Wednesday if they need to cancel.
- Staff are empowered to work from home whenever necessary, depending on road conditions near their homes.
