Local Missions

Creation Care

Central’s Creation Care Team exists to empower our congregation through education and engagement in order to fulfill God’s purpose of being responsible, loving stewards of all creation.

Church & Society

C&SC’s mission is “to engage, listen, and witness to our congregation in regard to systemic racism in order that we may work toward justice and reconciliation among people of the Asheville community and beyond.”

C4C

Congregations for Children (C4C) is a partnership of people and projects dedicated to transforming the lives of children and their families through nutrition, education, provisions, and opportunity.

Emmaus

The Walk to Emmaus is an experience of Christian spiritual renewal and formation that begins with a three-day short course in Christianity. It is an opportunity to meet Jesus Christ in a new way as God’s grace and love is revealed to you through other believers.

Reconciling Ministries

Reconciling Ministries Network is committed to intersectional justice across and beyond the United Methodist connection, working for the full participation of all LGBTQ+ people throughout the life and leadership of the Church.

Congregational Care

The Ministries of Congregational Care at Central UMC aim to nurture our members and others in need of care in our area. The precedent for care comes from Jesus who spent much of his ministry healing the sick, feeding the hungry, and turning the world upside down with the depths of God’s mercy.
