Traditional-style worship services are held Sunday mornings in the main church sanctuary at 10:00 am.
An outstanding, full music program includes the adult Chancel Choir, pipe organ and frequent performances by the Children’s Choir, Hand Bell Choir and Brass Ensemble.

Thought-provoking, scripture-based sermons are provided by our ministers.
Communion is typically served the first Sunday of every month.
A nursery for infants is available for all services. Midway through the worship service a special time of worship and fellowship is available for children ages 5 yrs – 5th grade. These children are invited to attend Children’s Church following the Children’s Moment.

Our Choirs
Under the direction of Corey Powell (Director of Music Ministries) and Linda Haggard (Director of Choral Music), Central United Methodist Church is blessed with an outstanding, full music program that includes the adult Chancel Choir, children and youth choirs, handbell choir, and brass ensemble. Corey Powell, Organist and Director of Music Ministries, provides music on pipe organ and piano.
If you sing or play an instrument, it’s always a great time to join the Music Ministry! We have a full ministry of music programs. If you would like to offer your talents to the glory of God, we would like to hear from you!
Children's Choir
This choir is for children age 4 through 5th grade. Meets on Sundays from 11:45 am – 12:15 pm, September through April.
While one choir is rehearsing, the other choir is doing activities our Family Life team. Then the two choirs switch places. The highlight of the year is the annual Children’s musical presented in worship each Spring.

For students grades 6-12, this group meets on Sunday afternoons from 11:15 am and sings occasionally in worship.

Brass Ensemble
One of our most vibrant and growing music groups, the Brass Ensemble is made up of brass instrumentalists from the congregation and community.
The group meets on Monday evenings in the Choir Room 7:00 pm. The Central Brass Ensemble leads worship once every six weeks and plays for special services and events.

Wesley Singers
A choir for adults with a more casual atmosphere. Rehearsals are on Tuesdays of each month from 2:00 – 3:00 pm in the Choir Room, and the group sings in worship about once per month.

Bell Choir
Directed by Director of Music Ministries, Corey Powell, this ensemble rings in worship twice each semester.
Rehearsals take place in the Bell Room each Wednesday from 5:30 – 6:30 pm.

Chancel Choir
As Central’s main worship choir, the Chancel Choir sings in worship services throughout the year. During special seasons of the year, the choir presents larger works with orchestral accompaniment.
Membership is open to adults of any age and students in high school. Rehearsals take place on Wednesday nights from 6:30 – 7:30 pm in the Choir Room.

Ushers & Greeters
The Usher and Greeter Ministry at Central UMC enjoys the opportunity to serve visitors and the congregation. Ushers and Greeters are friendly faces and provide friendly and informative direction to guests as they first enter the halls of Central UMC.
Ushers arrive early to ensure teams, bulletins, collection plates and anything else are present and prepared. Greeters also arrive early and are friendly, open, receptive and gracious to the needs of new and old friends of Central UMC.

Altar Guild
The Altar Guild Ministry at Central UMC serves visitors and the congregation by preparing the altar for worship. The Altar Guild cares for the altar, vestments, vessels and altar linens of the parish. Additionally, the Altar Guild makes sure the sanctuary is cleaned up after worship services.

Audio Visual
The Audio Visual Ministry at Central UMC essentially controls the visual and audio aspect of services on Sunday Morning. Without this team, you would not be able to hear or see the services.
