Intent to Unite

Please include everyone in your household.



Membership Definitions:

Confession of Faith (Baptism)
Entrance into the church is acknowledged in baptism and may include persons of all ages.
 
Reaffirmation of Faith
Reaffirmation of the baptismal covenant and renewal of baptismal vows can occur at different stages of life.
 
Transfer of Membership
A member in good standing in any Christian denomination who has been baptized and who desires to unite with the United Methodist Church may be received as a professing member.
 
Affiliate or Associate Membership
A member of the United Methodist Church…who resides for an extended period in a city or community at a distance from the member’s home church, may on request be enrolled as an affiliate member.

A member of another denomination may become an associate member…but may not become a voting member of the church council.
 
The following questions are to be asked of those being received by baptism and reaffirmation:
  1. Do you believe in Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior?
  2. Do you profess the Christian faith as contained in the scriptures of the Old and New Testaments?
  3. Do you promise to keep God’s will and commandments and walk in the same all the days of your life as faithful members of Christ’s holy church?
 
The following is to be asked of those baptized, reaffirmed and transferred:
  • Will you be loyal to the United Methodist Church and uphold it by your prayers, your presence, your gifts and your service?
